Applications are due on Friday, April 4, 2025 by 11:59pm PT.
Scope
The Food Solution Area - Integrative Project program aims to fund ambitious 3-5 year, $1.5-$3 million projects. This RFP will support faculty and faculty teams that seek to address key challenges in food system sustainability. We understand faculty interested in the program may need to build capacity towards submitting a large-scale project. To pave the way, we will host a workshop designed to further refine ideas and build strong teams.
Following the development of teams and project ideas at the workshop, there will be two distinct pathways for funding support. Forming teams with a clear idea for Integrative Projects will be invited to submit a Planning Grant (preferred option). High impact ideas that do not fit into a forming Integrative Project but are supported by the faculty community will be invited to submit a Starter Grant proposal. Faculty will be asked to provide a written proposal outlining activities at the Planning or Starter grant level and an estimated budget for up to 12 months of activities.
Faculty interested in participating are invited to submit an application outlining their research vision in alignment with the Integrative Project criteria and their contributions to a specific strategic focus area.
These strategic areas are:
- Climate-Resilient Food Systems
- True Cost of Food
- Blue Foods
- Food Innovation Ecosystems
- Emissions Reductions
See the full Request for Proposal for more details.
Eligibility
Workshop Applications must be submitted by an individual or interdisciplinary team of PI-eligible Stanford University active faculty.
Award Amount & Duration
Funding available is up to $100,000 for a 1-year award.
More information can be found in the full Request for Proposal.
